Jack L.BrooksJack L. Brooks

Jack is a graduate of United Township High School in East Moline, Illinois, 1968; Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, 1972, B.A., Cum Laude; and Drake Law School in Des Moines, Iowa, 1974, with honors.  

Jack was the founding member of the Firm and retired from the practice of law in September 2016.

Jeffrey C.McDanielJeffrey C. McDaniel

Jeff was born in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa, B.A., Political Science, 1990, and J.D., 1993.

Jeff and his wife, Jennifer, have three sons and reside in Bettendorf, Iowa. Jeff’s interests and hobbies include travel, recreational sports, 5k running, and Boy Scouts of America (Illowa Council, Troop 89).

Jeff is a Trustee for the Bettendorf Community Schools (2011 to present), a Commissioner for the Scott County Civil Service Commission (2005 to present), and Vice President of the housing corporation for Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity at the University of Iowa. He is a past member of the Bettendorf Parks & Recreation Foundation (President and Secretary) and Bettendorf Human Rights Commission (Vice Chairman).

Jeff is a member of Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, Iowa Defense Counsel Association, Defense Research Institute, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the National Association of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives.

Jeff’s areas of concentration are civil litigation, including personal injury, insurance defense, and medical malpractice defense; commercial litigation, including real estate foreclosure, bankruptcy and collection, social security disability, as well as employment and discrimination litigation. Jeff is licensed in Iowa, Illinois and Missouri state courts as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Iowa; Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois; Kansas District, Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, Eastern and Western Arkansas, Nebraska District and Colorado District.

Bernard J. Hofmann

Bern was born in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Pleasant Valley High School; Admiral Farragut Academy; the University of Iowa, 1989; and Drake University Law School, 1993.

Bern and his wife, Milissa, have two children and reside in Pleasant Valley, Iowa. Bern’s interests and hobbies include golfing and gardening. Bern is a member of various legal organizations and has participated in a number of activities on behalf of local, civic, church and charitable organizations.

Bern’s areas of concentration are real estate, probate, estate planning, business and corporate law. Bern is licensed in both Iowa and Illlinois.

Jeffrey D. Bert

Jeff is a graduate of Bettendorf High School, 1985; Iowa State University, B.A., English, 1989; and The University of Iowa College of Law, 1992, with distinction.

Jeff and his wife live in Bettendorf with their children. Jeff’s hobbies and interests include: golfing, running, fishing and reading. Jeff is currently serving as a member of the Bettendorf Planning and Zoning Commission (since 2013), a board member for One Eighty, a non-profit corporation (since 2013), and the Quad City Marathon Race Committee (since 2008). Jeff previously served as a member of the Vera French Mental Health Center Board of Directors from 2003 to 2011.

Jeff is a member of the Iowa and Illinois State Bar Associations, Scott County and Rock Island County Bar Associations, the Iowa Defense Counsel and Defense Research Institute (DRI). 

Jeff’s practice consists of insurance defense, personal injury, worker’s compensation, commercial and business litigation, commercial and residential real estate transactions, and real estate litigation. Jeff has extensive jury and bench trial experience. Jeff is licensed to practice in both Iowa and Illinois.

Milissa K. HofmannMilissa K. Hofmann

Milissa was born in Dubuque, Iowa on April 17, 1968. She is a 1990 graduate of Augustana College, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in English. She is a 1993 graduate of Drake University School of Law, obtaining her Juris Doctor. She is a member of the Scott County Bar Association, where she has served on Executive Council, the Rock Island County Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.

She devotes a substantial amount of her practice to representing individuals and small to medium-sized businesses in their general real estate and financing matters, general corporate and company matters, and estate planning and probate matters.

She has participated in a number of activities on behalf of local, civic and charitable organizations. Currently she serves as the Board Chairperson of the Bettendorf Family Museum of Arts and Science, on the Board of Directors of Quad Cities Golf Classic Charitable Foundation (John Deere Classic), and on the Board of Directors of the Nahant Marsh Education Center. She is very active in the Cody Elementary PTA, having served as Vice President and President, Chapter LM of P.E.O. and the Augustana College Planning Giving Council. She has provided instruction for numerous years on behalf of Junior Achievement.

Milissa and her husband, Bernard, also a shareholder in the firm have two children. Her hobbies and interests include spending time with family and friends, cooking, gardening, golfing and running.

Brian T. Fairfield

Brian graduated from Creighton University, B.A., Political Science, 1991, and Creighton University School of Law, J.D., 1994.

He and his wife and their children reside in Eldridge, Iowa.

Brian is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, a member of the Rock Island County Bar Association and the Scott County Bar Association.

Brian practices in the areas of general civil litigation, including medical malpractice and insurance defense litigation. Brian is licensed to practice law in Iowa and Illinois, and also in the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern District of Iowa and Central District of Illinois.

She and her husband and their three children reside in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Tricia S. Fairfield

Tricia was born in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa, B.S., Economics, 1991, and J.D., 1994, with distinction.

She and her husband, Brian, have two sons and reside in Eldridge, Iowa.

Tricia is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Scott County Bar Association and American Land Title Association.

Tionn Fambro Carter

Tionn was born in Chicago, Illinois. She is a graduate of Tennessee State University, 2005, B.A., Summa Cum Laude, Valedictorian, and Southern Illinois University, J.D., 2008 where she concentrated in litigation and trial skills. She has also studied Constitutional and Comparative Law abroad at the University of Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa.

She resides in Rock Island, Illinois. Tionn enjoys traveling, attending church, serving the community, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Tionn’s practice areas are criminal defense, both felony and misdemeanor, family law, immigration law, and social security disability. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Iowa.

Matthew C. Holmer

Matt graduated from University of Illinois, B.A., Political Science and Speech Communications, 2007, and University of Missouri School of Law, J.D., 2010.

Matt is a veteran who served for six years in the Illinois National Guard as a member of the 1544th Transportation Company. He was deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom II to Baghdad, Iraq from December 2003 until March 2005.

Matt’s area of concentration is civil litigation, including insurance defense, personal injury, creditor's rights and landlord tenant law. Matt is licensed in the state courts of Iowa and Illinois and is an accredited attorney for the preparation, presentation and prosecution of claims for Veterans benefits before the Department of Veteran Affairs. 

Matt resides in Moline, Illinois.

Peter J. Wenker

A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Peter attended high school at St. Thomas Military Academy. He received his undergraduate degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His interest in law began while working for a Minneapolis employment law firm, from which he went on to receive his juris doctorate from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul. He spent his summers studying in both Norway and as a visiting student at New York Law School.

Soon thereafter, he obtained an LL.M. in Transnational Law, having studied at the Japan campus of Temple University Beasley School of Law. While studying for his Master of Laws in Tokyo, Peter worked for a Japanese maritime law firm, which led to his decision to concentrate in maritime law. After being admitted to the New York Bar, he went on to work for the renowned maritime law firm of Freehill Hogan & Mahar where his practice included maritime personal injury defense and representing employers and carriers under the Longshore and Harborworker’s Compensation Act and the Defense Base Act.

After the birth of their twins, he and his wife, Kari Williams (from Moline), moved from NYC to QC, where they now reside in Rock Island. Peter’s hobbies include music journalism, skateboarding, and snowboarding.

Peter's areas of concentration are civil litigation, including personal injury, insurance defense, commercial litigation, construction litigation, including the enforcement and defense of mechanic's liens, as well as general litigation and environmental law.

Peter is licensed to practice in the courts of Illinois, Iowa and New York, including the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, and Western District of New York.
